Manufacturing

Plants that mix office notebooks with warehouse and line-side gear.

What to send

  1. Which lines are office and which are plant
  2. Model family or SKU per line
  3. Ship-to by site, if this is more than one plant
  4. Whether workstations or mini PCs are on the same PO

A plant list is often two lists stapled together: Latitude or Elite Mini for the office, Precision or a tiny PC for a station, and a closet switch.

How the buy actually happens

Say which line is which. If a station needs a workstation GPU, that is a different quote than a notebook. We will not collapse them into one SKU to make the page look tidy. Split ship-to by site when freight is not one dock.

What we will not stamp

We do not claim OT, MES, or shop-floor integration. A plant on the ship-to does not make us a controls vendor.

The paperwork, not the SKU

  • Two populations

Office and line-side are different images. Split the list or the receiving dock will.

  • Sites

A plant in one ZIP and a HQ in another are two freight lines. Send both.

  • What we do not claim

We do not claim OT, MES, or shop-floor integration. We quote the boxes and the licenses.

What usually sits on the list

Examples from the catalog. Your PO may be a different family. Price is still on the quote.

  • Office

Latitude or Elite Mini for the office floor. A different image than the plant.

  • Station

Precision or ZBook when a GPU is on the line. Do not collapse it into a notebook SKU.

  • Closet

Aruba or Dell PowerSwitch, plus a FortiGate or SonicWall if that is the standard.

  • Sites

A plant ZIP and an HQ ZIP are two freight lines.

Not a kit. Configuration and paperwork still go on the quote.
